Sustain is working with diverse organisations and institutions to deliver two major projects based on a collective impact approach – Cardinia Food Circles and the Melbourne Food Hub. Both these projects are the first of their kind in Australia. Our aim is to create models and pilots that can be adapted and replicated across the country to drive the urgent transition to healthy, sustainable and fair food systems.
In November 2016 Sustain embarked on a major collective impact project with Cardinia Shire Council: Cardinia Food Circles. This project aims to establish, promote and expand a healthy, delicious, sustainable and fair food system for all Shire residents.Read more
A collaboration between Sustain and Melbourne Farmers Markets, supported by the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, the Melbourne Food Hub is a place for everyone to connect to a healthy and flourishing local food system.
Sustain has created a web-based tool in the form of an Australian Directory of people, organisations, projects, knowledge (research and policies), infrastructure (e.g. abattoirs, community gardens, food co-operatives), events and other resources related to food systems.Read more
